Recently, Territory Ahead spent some time photographing along the Sonoma and Mendocino Coast for their latest catalog. One of their subject matters was the “Point Reyes Boat”, which lies on the surf line of Tomales Bay, by the town of Inverness, CA. The Point Reyes Boat is becoming a Icon of sorts these days, as a stopping point for people visiting Point Reyes National Seashore. The boat is a great subject matter for both black and white and color photography. The old fishing boat shows interesting ways of photographing its natural appeal with rust stains, peeling white paint and exposed wood. Others may just marvel at this old boat and wonder what a life it had before coming to a resting spot in Inverness.
