Annual Gray Whale Migration

Gray Whales-Photographed from Bodega Head, Sonoma Coast State Park.

The annual northern migration of gray whales is underway.  Two of my favorite places to see gray whales from shore are at the Point Reyes Lighthouse, Point Reyes National Seashore and Bodega Head, Sonoma Coast State Park.  Bring binoculars to assist you in finding whales or their spouts.  However, at both places the whales maybe so close to shore that binoculars won’t be necessary.  This is a great time of year to see the cows with their calves migrating north.  I hope you get a chance to see these magnificent creatures.
